Newsletter Winter '05
Beaumont Inn, Harrodsburg Kentucky

Dear Friends:

Here we are fast approaching the Holidays with full steam ahead. The Old Owl TAVERN, the area’s wonderful events and festivals, the great summer and autumn weather and the great press we have received of late all came together making 2005 a year to remember. We thank all of you who ventured our way this past year and hope you are making plans to do it all again this coming year.

With this newsletter, we would like to bring you up to date on a few works in progress as well as promote our winter events. These winter events were a huge success last year and so we’re excited about offering them again this winter. So here goes!

Family Update

Dixon, our son and fifth generation Innkeeper (Wofford College ’03), has done a remarkable job with the food and beverage segment of our operation. He has returned many of the old favorites back to the menu and insured our reputation for Kentucky cuisine is in good health. He has had little time for his passions of golf and fishing this year with the addition of the TAVERN, but declares 2006 as the year his game “comes together.”

Becky, our daughter and recent Wofford College graduate is employed by Brown-Forman at the Woodford Reserve distillery in Versailles, Kentucky. She is the Guest Services Coordinator and absolutely loves her job. We guess her great, great grandfather’s master distiller (Kentucky Owl Bourbon Whiskey/C. M. Dedman Distillery circa 1894) genes are proving a good fit for her newfound occupation.

Helen and Chuck are still rehabbing the Greystone House and expect a completion date around the first of the year. They are keeping their fingers crossed. It’s been a long time coming.

New Things You Will See!

Over the past nine months we have completed many projects here at the Inn, which we hope will add to the Beaumont experience. Among these are a new front porch made from Brazilian Redwood with new roof and restored façade, new sidewalks, pool fence, color brochure, wireless DSL service for our computer packing friends, new stone porch at the Greystone House and coming soon, a new www.beaumontinn.com website along with an Old Owl TAVERN website, www.oldowltavern.com.
