Tennis
Lions Park Community Center Tennis Courts – Located in Harrodsburg on Factory Street. Three lighted courts are available and open to the public. Take Beaumont Avenue, then right on Greenville Street, then right on Factory Street.
Anderson Dean Community Park - Located on US 127 north, the park has two lighted courts as well as a 2-mile walking path, outdoor pool, basketball courts, volleyball courts, playground, and athletic fields.
Walking Tours
There are three popular walking tours around Historic Harrodsburg. The three blocks of South Main Street between Lexington Street to the merger of Beaumont and Mooreland Avenues, along with the three blocks of North Main and Beaumont Avenue, comprise the historic tours of Harrodsbusrg. The tours highlight the history of many of the buildings throughout Harrodsburg, as well as their architectural design. The tour is divided into three parts- the Downtown tour, the Northern tour, and the Beaumont tour.
The Downtown Tour – This tour comprises the three blocks of South Main Street between Lexington Street and the merger of Beaumont and Mooreland Avenues. Some highlights of the Downtown tour are the seven historic churches of Harrodsburg, Main Street, and Morgan Row.
The Northern Tour – This tour is centered between North Main Street and College Street. The Matherly-Armstrong House, Diamond Point, and Doricham are a few of the highlights on the northern side of Harrodsburg.
The Beaumont Tour – One of the most popular tours is the Beaumont tour. Beginning right outside of the Inn and continuing down Beaumont Avenue, this tour offers many fascinating architectural designs.
Parks
Anderson/Dean Community Park – U.S. 127 North (734-9167) – The newly constructed 200 area recreational complex includes a two mile walking/jogging trail, children’s play ground, picnic shelter, tennis courts, five baseball fields, four soccer fields, two softball fields, two outdoor basketball courts, two lighted sand volleyball courts, football field, horseshoe and croquet courts, 18-hole disk golf court, and Olympic size swimming pool. Open daylight to dark.
Hiking
There are many great hiking places within Kentucky. Many of Kentucky’s state parks provide marked trails and most of the state nature preserves and public wildlife areas have available hiking. Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill has numerous hiking trails meandering around their vast acreage, complete with old mill sites, waterfalls, scenic overlooks, and common critter sightings.
Bicycling
Bicycling can be a great adventure throughout Kentucky. The scenic beauty of the state at its peak in the spring and fall – the varied topography, and the generally temperate climate are the perfect ingredients for great cycling adventures. Horseback Riding
What better place to ride horses than “the horse capital of the world!” A guided trail ride is offered at the Lexington Horse Park, just 50 minutes from the Inn.

Kentucky Horse Park – 50 minute guided trail ride, western style saiddle. Rides beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending at approximately 4:15 p.m. Trail rides go out every hour and fifteen minutes after 10:00 a.m.
Fishing
The streams and lakes of Kentucky are great places for freshwater fishing. There is no closed season on fishing in Kentucky. Herrington Lake offers many of the favorite Kentucky species and is just 20 minutes from the Inn.
